The Nederland community values social and emotional growth in addition to strong academic skills. Students are engaged in meaningful opportunities to learn and develop as they become responsible, respectful and contributing members of the community. Nederland uses the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBS) model of teaching students how to interact in positive ways, productively resolving conflict as they learn. We use Steps to Respect and Second Steps as a means to teach students pro-social behaviors during our weekly caring community lessons.

Nederland Elementary also likes to have fun! We are building some great after school activities for kids. Spanish Language, STEM problem solving workshops, staff-sponsored after school sports, Peak-to-Peak soccer and SMBA mountain biking are activities that are offered at NES. Parents can go to nespta.com to view a calendar and read more information about these opportunities. All students get an opportunity to ski, skate, and snowshoe during our annual Winter Adventure Days in January. Moreover, students in grades 3, 4, and 5 get an opportunity for an overnight field trip related to their science curriculum.

Please feel to stop in to visit our school or give us a call a 720-561-4800 for more information about us.

Jeff Miller
Principal

Please view Principal Miller's Blog for up-to-date information on what's happening at our school.
